Padres & Jóvenes Unidos Host U.S. Dept. of Ed. Convenings on Obama's Education Funds to Turnaround Lowest Performing Schools

On March 3rd, Alberto Retana, U.S. Department of Education Director of Community Outreach, spoke at a community forum to discuss funding available from the Obama administration to turnaround Colorado's lowest-performing schools. Colorado is eligible to receive $39.7 million dollars from this fund.

This federal financial aid must be met with bold parent and student-led organizing campaigns to push for reforms that will outlast this funding and provide all students with a college preparatory education.
