As 2007 comes to an end, the hearts and thoughts of Padres y Jóvenes Unidos turns to those who are working for equality, peace and justice around the world. We stand arm in arm with all of you who believe that, through our collective efforts, we can change the injustices that exist in our communities, across this country, and globally.
We believe in a vision of excellent education and college preparation and access for all. For a true democracy to flourish, we need a public school system that prepares all its students to succeed. We need a just immigration system that supports hard-working families who come here, instead of demonizing them and tearing them apart. We join with you, organizations and movements of people working for justice around the world in celebrating our democratic gains and commitment to a vision of a new world based upon dignity and human rights for all peoples.
It is in the spirit of equality and mutual respect for everyone's efforts that we present our work and accomplishments of 2007 to you.
