On Monday, June 11, parent members of Padres & Jóvenes Unidos will present their publication, Health Justice Report: A Community Analysis of Nutrition, Food Access and Physical Activity in Denver Public Schools, to a panel of DPS (Denver Public Schools) officials and community health advocates.
The report provides an analysis of the current health crisis from the perspective of those most affected - low-income people of color - and proposes school-based solutions that will advance health justice for the entire community.
Parent members from Padres & Jóvenes Unidos will ask community healthy advocates and DPS officials, including the DPS Board of Education President Mary Seawell and Assistant Superintendent Antwan Wilson, to endorse their findings and proposed solutions.
